Evaluation Meeting at AKÜ Faculty of Veterinary Medicine: Dean Civelek Emphasises Responsibility and Institutionalisation to Faculty Research Assistants
AKÜ Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Dean Prof. Dr. Turan Civelek held an evaluation meeting with Research Assistants appointed through applications to positions announced by the Rectorate during his term of office.
Dean Prof. Dr. Civelek began his speech by emphasising that 12 research assistant positions had been added to the Faculty during the term of Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karakaş and his own term as Dean. In addition to evaluating the general work done, he delivered important messages about the responsibilities of young academics and the faculty’s goals.
Responsibility to Work Harder and Do the Job Right
Dean Prof. Dr. Turan Civelek addressed the research assistants who began their duties during his tenure in particular, stating that this situation imposed additional motivation and the need to work harder on them.
> “The appointment of many of my colleagues to these positions is an important step for the future of our Faculty – I would like to thank our Rector once again for providing this opportunity. This situation and the opportunity offered also place greater responsibility on you to do your job properly and achieve the highest academic standards. Because you were appointed during our term. This Faculty is your home; you must repay your debt to this institution and our State in the best way possible and by working hard.”
Faculty Goals, Institutionalisation and Respect for Values
Another focus of the meeting was the importance of faculty goals and institutionalisation. Prof. Dr. Civelek drew attention to the Faculty’s efforts to raise the bar for academic success, noting that maintaining and developing the institutional structure plays a vital role in achieving these goals.
Dean Civelek also underlined the need to uphold national and spiritual values as a whole. He stressed that this approach is of great importance not only in terms of scientific but also social responsibilities.
The Importance of the Work and Expectations for the Future
At the end of his speech, Prof. Dr. Civelek stressed the importance of the work, reminding the audience that the foundation of science and academia is continuous effort and disciplined work. He expressed his belief that the research assistants would fully fulfil their duties to contribute to both personal and institutional development. He stressed his belief that, as valued members of the Turkish nation, they would follow in the footsteps of our professional predecessors and, above all, the path paved by our beloved Atatürk, and make significant contributions to the nation and the state in their respective fields in the future. The meeting concluded with positive expectations for the future of the Faculty and a mutual exchange of views.
